Wanneer wij vrienden over de vloer hebben die blijven slapen kijken we ‘s avonds een film, op de beamer. Omdat het gewoon zo’n bioscoop experience is!
En deze keer keken we een film die nog op het lijstje stond van onze goede vriend Ricardo ; The Wrong Paris.
In deze romantische komedie The Wrong Paris, geregisseerd door Tim Kirkby, speelt Miranda Cosgrove de rol van Dawn, een jonge kunstenares uit een klein stadje in Texas met grote dromen. Ze wordt toegelaten tot een prestigieuze kunstopleiding in Parijs, Frankrijk, maar heeft niet genoeg geld om haar studie te bekostigen. Op aanraden van haar zus besluit ze zich in te schrijven voor een dating-tv-programma dat zogenaamd wordt opgenomen in “Paris” — in de veronderstelling dat dat Parijs in Frankrijk is, ze wordt met wat moeite en veel verbazing toegelaten!
Maar tot haar schrik ontdekt Dawn bij aankomst dat het programma zich niet afspeelt in Frankrijk, maar in Paris, Texas. Daar ontmoet ze Trey weer, gespeeld door Pierson Fodé, de knappe maar nuchtere ranch-eigenaar die de “bachelor” van de show is. Terwijl Dawn aanvankelijk alleen meedoet om het prijzengeld te verdienen en snel naar huis te kunnen, wordt haar plan in de war gebracht wanneer ze zich onverwacht tot Trey aangetrokken voelt.
Tussen de chaos van de reality-show, de culturele botsingen en haar verlangen om kunstenaar te worden, moet Dawn kiezen tussen haar oude droom – studeren in het échte Parijs – en de nieuwe gevoelens die ze in het “verkeerde” Paris ontdekt. Met humor, romantiek en een vleugje zelfspot laat The Wrong Paris zien dat soms de verkeerde plek precies de juiste blijkt te zijn.
Wij vonden het een leuke film om te zien en dat er bloopers werden getoond op het einde was al helemaal leuk! Het is een aanrader voor mensen die van country houden, humor en romantiek.

When we have friends over who spend the night, we always end the evening with a movie on the projector — because honestly, it just feels like a real movie theater experience!
This time, we watched a film that had been on our good friend Ricardo’s list for a while: The Wrong Paris.
In this romantic comedy, directed by Tim Kirkby, Miranda Cosgrove stars as Dawn, a young artist from a small town in Texas with big dreams. She gets accepted into a prestigious art school in Paris, France, but doesn’t have enough money to make the move. On her sister’s advice, she signs up for a dating reality show that’s supposedly filmed in “Paris” — assuming it means the one in France. After some effort and a bit of luck, she gets accepted!
But to her surprise, Dawn soon discovers that the show doesn’t take place in France at all — it’s actually filmed in Paris, Texas. There, she meets Trey (played by Pierson Fodé), the handsome yet down-to-earth ranch owner who’s the bachelor on the show. What started as a quick way to earn some prize money and head back home soon turns complicated when Dawn unexpectedly finds herself falling for him.
Caught between the chaos of reality TV, cultural clashes, and her dream of becoming an artist, Dawn has to choose between pursuing her old goal — studying in the real Paris — or following her heart in the “wrong” one. With plenty of humor, romance, and a touch of self-awareness, The Wrong Paris proves that sometimes the wrong place turns out to be exactly the right one.
We really enjoyed watching it — and the bloopers at the end were such a fun bonus! Definitely a great pick for anyone who loves country vibes, comedy, and a bit of romance.
