Honestly, the whole thing played out in a pretty funny way too… I was sitting there with my phone, waiting for a call from the gynecologist with the results of his consultation. The consultation where they decided whether I’d be allowed to have my uterus removed… I had my phone on me the whole time, sound on and everything.

But then suddenly I saw a text saying I had a new voicemail… how?? šŸ˜…
So I listened to the voicemail from my gynecologist, and he said he really needed to speak with me to go over when my uterus is going to be removed!

That’s when I realized… I had private numbers blocked, so he got sent straight to voicemail… oops šŸ˜…
I fixed it right away and called the outpatient clinic to explain. They said they’d pass it on, but it might take up to 3 weeks before he could call me back…

Luckily, he called again that same afternoon, and we talked about the surgery.
He asked if I’d be available on short notice, and I kind of confusedly said, ā€œUh, yeah, why?ā€
And then he goes, ā€œWell, if someone happens to cancel or gets sick, we can just move you up!ā€

So within the next 3 months, my uterus is actually going to be removed… 😳
On one hand, it still feels a bit unreal, but on the other hand, this is exactly how I pictured it happening…

So yeah, it’s another waiting game—but it’s happening! OMG!
I’m still a little speechless.

And I think I mentioned this in an earlier post, but it’s honestly crazy that I spent 5 years fighting with another hospital… and now I’ve been to this one 4 times, and they found the problem, reassured me, had me talk to a psychologist for a bit—and now it’s all arranged.

No more periods… no more birth control (which gave me a ton of side effects)… what a life! What freedom!
I’m SO looking forward to it!

They’re going to remove my uterus (and fallopian tubes) through a laparoscopic procedure—that was the best and least complicated option, they said. I’ll have to stay in the hospital for one night, which I’m totally fine with.

So yeah… I think this is the last update for now… I’ll be getting the birth control shot one last time. And then that’s it.

Damn, I’m so grateful 🄹
