What an insane series 🤯🔥
I’ll be honest—I usually struggle to find a show I really like. I’ll ask friends for recommendations and everything… but this one I actually found myself haha 😄 For me here in the Netherlands, it’s on Disney+.
I hadn’t even started watching yet—I just read the description and already had a feeling I’d love it… and yep, I was right.
By the end of the very first episode, I literally had tears in my eyes 🥹 That’s how fast it pulled me in! Now, just a few days later, I’m already deep into season 2 and it is SO addictive 😅
The story follows Morgan (Kaitlin Olson), a single mom with an extremely high IQ (around 160), who initially works as a cleaner at the police department. When she accidentally solves a complicated case thanks to her incredible observational skills, she gets hired as a consultant. She teams up with a more traditional detective, Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), and together they make such an interesting duo—her intuitive, chaotic style constantly clashes with his structured, by-the-book approach.
Each episode usually focuses on a new crime, but there’s also a super compelling personal storyline running through it: Morgan is trying to keep her family together while also solving a mystery from her own past.
Oh yeah, and on top of that, it was such a fun surprise to see Morgan driving a 1971 or 1972 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser! 🚗✨
This show is already in my Top 3 favorite series of all time 👏🏼💯
I also noticed that at the end of each episode, it briefly mentions that it’s based on a French series—so of course I had to look it up 👀 And yep! High Potential is based on the French show HPI (Haut Potentiel Intellectuel). The original series is about a brilliant but unconventional woman (played by Audrey Fleurot) who helps the police solve crimes. The American version follows the same core idea, but with its own style, humor, and storylines. I might actually watch that one next too! 🇫🇷✨
Fun fact: the French series premiered in 2021, and the American remake came later, with its first season in 2024 🎬

The show currently has 2 seasons, and a 3rd one has already been announced!! 🎉
Season 1 has 13 episodes, and season 2 has 18. Season 3 is expected in fall 2026, but there’s no exact release date yet.
