This is what Wikipedia has to say about this series :
“Ancient Apocalypse” is a Netflix series in which British writer Graham Hancock presents his pseudo-archaeological theory that an advanced civilization existed during the last Ice Age and was destroyed by meteorite impacts about 12,000 years ago. He proposes that survivors passed on their knowledge to hunter-gatherers around the world, leading to the first known civilizations. In the episodes, Hancock visits archaeological sites and natural features which, according to him, provide evidence for this. He repeatedly claims that archaeologists ignore or hide the evidence.

My boyfriend and I went into this series with an open mind.
Our opinion? It was incredibly enjoyable to see how Graham takes you on a journey and gets you thinking about what else might be possible. The show really made us feel like his theory could very well be true, without forcing us to accept it.
It also really came across to me like he’s the bullied kid in the class… he’s dismissed as a “pseudo-archaeologist,” even though his theory might actually be valid… why isn’t more research being done? Why are we expected to just accept what we’re told? After all, we’re much more advanced now with certain technologies that can help us examine the actual age of objects, right?
In addition to the entire series, I also listened to the Joe Rogan podcast where Graham was a guest. Again, super interesting! I highly recommend it, but you need to be open-minded… because it goes against the theory most of us were taught in school.

The only critique I had was about season 2. Keanu Reeves also appears, and while it’s obviously fun to see him, he didn’t seem to add much to the show… that felt a bit vague.
