What an interesting series this is. We didn’t know there was a series where Jim Carrey played, which also caught our attention and that’s why we went to watch.
And although it is a separate series, it is fun to watch! It is an American comedy drama from 2018 to 2020.
Our beloved Jim Carrey plays Jeff Piccirillo, better known as Mr. Pickles, the shining face of an immensely popular children’s television show for decades.
For millions of children and parents, he is a beacon of softness, optimism and moral clarity – someone who seems to be able to solve any problem with puppets, songs and imagination.
But outside the colorful studio world, his real life is crumbling. After the tragic death of one of his two sons, his family falls apart and Jeff becomes emotionally disrupted.
The man who can calm down any storm on television turns out to have no script for grief, guilt and loss in real life. No fairy tale, no hand puppet, and no wise life lesson can protect him from harsh reality.
While his marriage is under pressure and his professional image must be carefully guarded, Jeff struggles with an existential question: who are you when the character you play is stronger and more beloved than the person behind it?
The series interweaves absurd humor with melancholy and explores themes such as grief, family, identity and emotional honesty. The result is both heartbreaking and disarmingly funny – a story about how hard it is to remain hopeful when your own world collapses.
We haven’t watched it completely yet, we watched an episode today that suddenly featured Ariana Grande in it to our great surprise! Unsuspected surprise was that!
It is a fun series to watch, not exactly child-friendly when it comes to sex scenes but yes, certainly a fun series to watch with something you do not expect at all!
