This book was recommended to me by another (Dutch) book from Bouke de Boer. I had also heard of Deepak Chopra many times before, but I had never actually read one of his books—this was my first. The second one is already on its way 😁

I read the 1996 edition, even though a newer version is available by now. But I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for older books 😝

The book describes seven “spiritual laws” that, according to Deepak Chopra, are the key to success—not just material success, but especially inner fulfillment and balance.

The 7 laws in short:
1️⃣ The Law of Pure Potentiality
Everything comes from consciousness. Through silence, meditation, and self-reflection, you can tap into your true power.

2️⃣ The Law of Giving and Receiving
Life is all about exchange. What you give (attention, love, help), you receive in return.

3️⃣ The Law of Karma (Cause and Effect)
Every action has consequences. Conscious choices lead to better outcomes.

4️⃣ The Law of Least Effort
Go with the flow instead of forcing things. Acceptance and flexibility will take you further.

5️⃣ The Law of Intention and Desire
Clear intentions help you manifest your goals.

6️⃣ The Law of Detachment
Let go of control over the outcome. Trust the process.

7️⃣ The Law of Dharma (Life Purpose)
Everyone has a unique gift and purpose. By following it, you will find fulfillment.

Half of my honest review:
This book is inspiring for many people because it approaches success in a different way than the typical “hard work = success” mindset. It emphasizes inner peace, awareness, and meaning—which can feel refreshing.

What works well:
🌱 Easy to read in terms of length and structure (short and clear)
💡 Encourages reflection on your mindset and choices
🧘‍♂️ Promotes calm, balance, and self-awareness
✨ Offers a positive and hopeful perspective on success and happiness

Buuutttt there are also some downsides:
📖 The wording can be quite abstract and not always practical to apply
🤔 Some concepts remain vague or difficult to grasp without prior knowledge of spirituality
🔄 At times, ideas can feel a bit contradictory (for example: having intention vs. letting go of control)
🧩 It sometimes requires your own interpretation to make it truly concrete in everyday life

So, my conclusion:
The 7 Spiritual Laws of Success is mainly an inspiring and philosophical book, not a practical step-by-step guide.
It can be valuable if you’re open to spirituality and reflection, but it’s less suitable if you’re looking for direct, concrete action steps.

Once again, thanks for reading 🩷
