Years ago, I had already read this book once, but it was really nice to read it again! It was a much-needed refresher, because I had actually forgotten quite a lot 😅

The Secret is about the Law of Attraction—and how you’ve actually been using it your whole life, whether you realized it or not. It also explains how you can use it in a way that works in your favor!

At first, I thought the book came before everything else, but I’ve now learned that the documentary film actually came first, and the book was released afterward.

It was created by Rhonda Byrne with contributions from John Assaraf, Michael Bernard Beckwith, Lee Brower, Jack Canfield, John F. Demartini, Mike Dooley, Bob Doyle, Hale Dwoskin, Morris E. Goodman, John Gray, D. John Hagelin, Bill Harris, Ben Johnson, Lisa Nichols, Bob Proctor, James Arthur Ray, David Schirmer, Marci Shimoff, Joe Vitale, Denis Waitley, and Fred Alan Wolf.

Personally, I enjoy reading the book more than watching the film. The movie feels pretty outdated now and moves through the material quite quickly.
When you read, you can go at your own pace and highlight the parts that really stand out to you 😊 I’ve underlined quite a lot in my copy haha.

One thing I also really love is that each chapter is summarized into key points at the end—that’s the case here too, and it’s honestly great!

1️⃣ The Law of Attraction
You attract whatever you consistently think about—whether it’s positive or negative.

2️⃣ Thoughts become things
Everything starts with a thought, which can eventually shape your reality.

3️⃣ Ask – Believe – Receive
A 3-step process:
– Ask for what you want
– Believe it’s already yours
– Be open to receiving it

4️⃣ Visualization is powerful
Picture your goals as if they’ve already happened—that’s supposed to bring them closer.

5️⃣ Feeling is the key
It’s not just about thinking, but truly feeling as if you already have it.

6️⃣ Gratitude speeds things up
Being grateful (even before you have something) is said to attract more good things.

7️⃣ Focus on what you do want
Instead of “I don’t want debt,” think “I want financial freedom.”

8️⃣ Negative thoughts block results
Doubt, fear, and worry can attract unwanted situations.

9️⃣ You are responsible for your life
Everything you experience is something you’ve attracted—consciously or unconsciously.

🔟 There are no real limits
According to the book, there are no limits to what you can achieve.

I do think it’s something you have to be open to, though—there’s also criticism that The Secret is a bit too simplistic.
That said, I definitely felt a lot better after reading it ☺️
