Hello there lovely human 😊 I hope you’re doing well!

Things have been pretty busy over here lately, so here’s a little life update 😄

Right now we’re dogsitting Kyton, my sister’s dog 🐶 He’s getting pretty old now, so this will probably be the last time we watch him for such a long period of time… and honestly, that’s exactly why I really wanted to do it ❤️
Even though he sheds like CRAZY 😂 and doesn’t listen quite as well as he used to (old age, I guess), he’s still the sweetest dog ever. I really love that little guy. But to be completely honest: after a month of dogsitting, I’m also kind of looking forward to bringing him back home haha 😅
It has actually taught me a few things about myself too. I’ve noticed how quickly I can get irritated sometimes, and that’s definitely something I want to work on. And honestly, Kyton has also made me realize that I’m probably more of a cat person 🐱
I definitely have more patience than I used to, but probably still not enough for a dog. They require so much time, attention, and energy — which he absolutely deserves — but you really need to have the time and motivation for that.

On another note: my Chevy is finally home!! 😍🚘
So we’ve already started working on it a little. The chassis isn’t here yet, but that’ll come later. First we want to have a specialist check out the condition of the engine block 🔧
We might also be able to remove the truck bed soon, but we’re still trying to figure out where we can temporarily store it 😅 It’s a pretty massive piece and we don’t exactly have a ton of space right now. Worst case scenario, it’ll end up under the patio cover for a while haha.
I’m basically trying to get as much done as possible before my surgery, because that’s scheduled for the second week of June 🏥 After that I’ll have up to 8 weeks of recovery time where I’m not allowed to physically exert myself at all.
But honestly? I’m actually looking forward to the surgery. I’ll finally be done dealing with all of this 🙏
I’m so incredibly grateful for HMC and for the gynecologist who’s treating me ❤️

And of course, we’re still super busy with the house too 🏠
Yesterday we bought a beautiful carpet that’ll be delivered next week 😄 First we still need to finish some things upstairs and mount wooden boards on the walls as trim. We’re going to lightly sand them down and paint them black, and then our neon signs will go up there ✨
We also still need to hang the curtains, and Timothy is going to build the loft area, so we definitely still have plenty to do 😅

At first I wanted to write a blog post about my frustrations with certain people… but then I read an article in a psychology magazine and realized that I can be just as stubborn as the people I get frustrated with 🤭 So maybe I need to do a little more self-reflection before criticizing the way they communicate.
Because even when your intentions are good, other people can still experience things very differently.

I’m also still debating whether I want to start a newsletter 📬
These updates are kind of the same idea already haha. But I also have no clue whether I should write it in Dutch or in English. My website has a translation button, but I don’t think newsletters work that way.

Oh well… at least it keeps me busy 😝
Thanks for reading ❤️
